    Frequently Asked Questions

To participate fully in the design sprint you'll want to have foundational knowledge of a few topics which are covered in our training videos. You have 12 months of access to our training portal with 10+ hours worth of videos including templates and 'how to' guides but you only need to watch around 6 hours of video lessons prior to the design sprint. Videos lessons are generally between 5 and 15 minutes long and can be watched on your phone, tablet or computer.

After payment has been received, and 30 days before the design sprint, you will be sent an email with your portal login details with access to the video lessons and templates.

We will unlock it immediately after payment received if you register less than 30 days before the design sprint.

Yes, you can. After you select your tickets, when you are asked to choose a payment type, you can choose 'Pay by invoice' and you will be emailed the invoice and your place at our course will be reserved.

You can then give this to your accounts area or manager to process the payment via EFT.

If your accounts area or manager prefers to pay the manual invoices via corporate credit card we can arrange that but credit card fees will apply as we use a separate secure payment gateway that charges ~1.9%.

Unfortunately, we don't hold spots or early bird tickets until you register so we encourage you to seek approval to attend the course based on the full fee ticket price. If you are concerned, please contact us.

If you have in-principal approval and just need to get official approval, we recommend that you register and select the pay-by-invoice option at checkout. You can then give this to your accounts area or manager to process the payment via EFT.

If your accounts area or manager prefers to pay the manual invoices via corporate credit card we can arrange that but credit card fees will apply as we use a separate secure payment gateway that charges ~1.9%.

Alternatively, you can get approval first to pay by corporate credit card at the time you register with no credit card fee.

Yes, when you register for our in-person course we will ask you for your dietary requirements and do our best to cater for these. We will also send a reminder just prior to the event to make sure we have captured any changes to your dietary needs. No additional charge for dietary requirements.

We have had complete beginners as well as advanced UX practitioners complete our course and they all give us good course ratings. While it will help if you have experience or qualifications in either IT, digital, market research, psychology, social research or marketing, it is not essential. However, if you are side-stepping from a completely unrelated field and want to switch careers into UX, we recommend you join our UX Accelerator mentoring program instead.

All the theoretical principles you learn are the same. However, during the design sprint in Canberra, we align the terminology and language with the DTA's Digital Service Standard.

We highlight and outline the preferred methods that the DTA encourages agencies to adopt (which is suitable if you work in, or with the Government).

You will learn through storytelling and Tania Lang, your trainer, will share many case studies and examples based on her experience working in the field of UX for government agencies for over 20 years.

If you are unable to attend for health reasons, including COVID, please refer to our terms and conditions.

Yes, you can get a Team Ticket if you have 4 or more people wanting to attend. The team ticket allows you to buy 4 tickets for the price of 3.

If you have more than 8 people interested in attending, you may also consider in-house training as a cost-effective approach. Please see Corporate Training Options
