Refund and COVID Policy for Live-Virtual Courses

What will happen if our trainer is unable to attend

The quality of our training to attendees is paramount. In the event the trainer is unable to attend (e.g. due to illness), we will endeavour to find a suitable replacement trainer. If this is not feasible, training will be postponed rather substituting with an inexperienced trainer.

In the event that PeakXD postpones or cancels a course (e.g. due to insufficient numbers), attendees can elect to receive a full refund or have their payment transferred to a future course.

What will happen if an attendee is unable to attend

Cancellations for any reason received 14 days or more before the course start date will incur a 25% administration fee. Cancellations received less than 14 days before the course start date are non-refundable.

In the event you are unable to attend, at least 48 hours’ notice must be provided prior to the course start date and/or workshop date. With at least 48 hours’ notice, your registration will be transferred to the same course at a later date with no cost penalty (spaces permitting). You must provide at least 48 hours notice or the workshop will be forfeited. Please see below to understand why your registration can’t be transferred to another person in this instance.

Can I update my registration information?

Yes, email us at any time prior to portal access being provided to update registration information (e.g. to change your personal details)

Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?

Yes, for requests received 14 days or more before the course start date, registrations can be transferred to the same course on a different date, however this is subject to availability and may incur a 25% administration fee.  

Registrations can be transferred to a different person at any time prior to 14 days before the course starts. At this point, the licence to the learning portal is allocated and cannot be transferred to another person once issued.

Unfortunately, you cannot send someone else to attend one or some of the workshops in your place. This is because only you have access to the theory lessons in the learning portal, and each workshop builds on the activities of the previous one. It can be disruptive to the session if new participants are not familiar with the outputs of the previous workshops.

Refund and COVID Policy for In-Person Courses

We reserve the right to change the venue to an equivalent standard and location within 20km of the CBD of the booked city.

Your safety is paramount to us. We continue to closely monitor state and federal government restrictions in regard to COVID-19.

What will happen if our trainer gets COVID or is unable to attend

The quality of our training to attendees is paramount. In the event the trainer gets COVID, is required to isolate or is unable to travel due to travel restrictions, we will endeavour to offer hybrid training where our lead trainer will live stream to the group and a local experienced trainer will facilitate breakout activities in person. If this is not feasible, training will be postponed rather substituting with an inexperienced trainer.

In the event that PeakXD postpones or cancels a course (e.g. due to insufficient numbers), attendees can elect to receive a full refund or have their payment transferred to a future course. PeakXD will not be responsible for any travel costs incurred by registered participants. We encourage participants to book refundable and flexible travel for all of our in-person training courses.

What will happen if an attendee gets COVID or is unable to attend

Cancellations for any reason received 30 days or more before the course start date will incur a 25% administration fee. Cancellations received less than 30 days are non-refundable except for cancellations relating to COVID-19, in which case our COVID-19 policy applies.

COVID-19 policy:
You must not have tested COVID positive for a period of at least 7 days and have no symptoms or just a mild, dry cough (or in line with Government advice as it is updated) prior to the commencement of training.

In the event you get COVID, are required to isolate or are unable to travel due to travel restrictions, the following options will be available to you:

  1. Transfer your registration (or the remaining days of your registration) to a course at a later date, or
  2. Transfer your registration to one of our online training courses and receive a partial refund for any difference in cost.

If less than 72 hours notice are provided, any changes will incur a $250 change fee.

The following applies to non-COVID related illnesses: More than 7 days prior to course commencement

In regards to general illness that mean you cannot attend a course and you’re able to provide us with more than 7 days notice prior to course commencement, we will offer a full refund if requested in writing to [email protected] along with evidence in the form of a medical certificate confirming you are not fit to attend.

7 days or less before course commencement

In regards to illness (other than COVID) where you are unable to provide us with notice more than 7 days prior to course commencement (e.g. you wake up sick and cannot attend on one of the days), unfortunately we cannot offer any refund due to incurred catering and venue costs but we can offer you the following:

  1. The ability to attend the missed days at the next scheduled course in your city OR
  2. Access to our online UX training portal so that you can watch online lessons of the syllabus areas missed.

If cancelling with less than 7 days notice, you must notify us in writing to [email protected] prior to 9am on the day of training that you are unable to attend and as soon as feasible, you must provide either a statuary declaration or a medical certificate that you were unable to attend on the day due to sickness (i.e. not just "I got busy at work").

Can I update my registration information?

Yes, email us at any time to update registration information. We will send you an email requesting more information from you closer to the event date if we are missing anything important.

Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

Attendees can be substituted at any time prior to the course start date. However BCS examination requires registration of the attendee prior to sitting the exam, and candidate must provide photo identification at the time of the exam. Additional exam costs may apply to substitute exam candidate.

Payment conditions and options (for all courses)

Payment by invoice

On Eventbrite, you can choose 'Pay by invoice' as the payment type. You will be emailed the invoice and your place at our course will be reserved.

Full payment is due within 7 days of registration or the day before the first day of the event (whichever date comes sooner). The invoice will be sent to the email address provided at registration and can be paid by Credit Card or by depositing funds into our bank account (as per instructions on invoice). Should you need longer than 7 days please contact us as we understand some large organisations and government departments may require more time to accommodate purchasing policies. Note a credit card processing fee will be charged if you pay the invoice by credit card.

Confirmation of your registration

In order to assure quality training and service, numbers are limited. Please note payment is required to reserve and keep a place in our courses. Your registration is confirmed once you register online but may be cancelled if payment is not received within 7 days unless alternative arrangements have been organised in writing.

Enrolments will be considered confirmed and the cancellation policy will apply once a tax invoice is issued.

Certification & UX Digital Pack

The Certification & UX Digital Pack is an add-on for people who attend the 3-day course. It cannot be purchased individually or transferred to another person that is not attending the course. The login details will be distributed after the training commences. The online learning licence is allocated to an individual person and cannot be transferred to another person once issued.

BCS Exam Vouchers

Pearson Vue / BCS exam vouchers are issued to attendees who have purchased a course that includes the BCS Certification. Once issued the vouchers cannot be cancelled or refunded. Vouchers will expire within 6 months of issue date. If lost we cannot issue you with a new voucher but we can remind you of the original voucher code.

If you attended a course that is aligned with the BCS syllabus but did not include the exam sitting fee, you are able to contact BCS, The Chartered Institute of IT directly to pay for and sit the exam.

Limit of liability

PeakXD is not liable or responsible for any travel costs or loss or damage as a result of a substitution, cancellation, or postponement of an event. PeakXD shall assume no liability whatsoever if this event is altered, rescheduled, postponed or cancelled due to a fortuitous event, unforeseen occurrence or any other event that renders performance of this seminar inadvisable, illegal, impracticable or impossible. For purposes of this clause, a fortuitous event shall include, but shall not be limited to: an Act of God; governmental restrictions and/or regulations; war or apparent act of war; terrorism or apparent act of terrorism; disaster; civil disorder, disturbance, and/or riots; curtailment, suspension, and/or restriction on transportation facilities/means of transportation; unavailability of the trainer due to sickness or health or any other emergency. We will give at least 2 weeks notice in the event of cancellation due to insufficient numbers.
